Mis líneas de investigación exploran las interacciones entre suelos, bosques y el clima, con énfasis en los procesos físicos y biológicos que sostienen el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas boscosos y su impacto en el ciclo del agua y de carbono. Para comprender que sucede en los ecosistemas boscosos en cuanto el uso del agua y la captura de carbono, interpretamos los Isótopos estables de Oxigeno y de Carbono colectadas en muestras en suelos, agua y anillos de crecimiento de árboles. Mis investigaciones combinan el análisis de las variaciones temporales a escalas estacional y interanual con modelos que explican los procesos bioquímicos y físicos que el agua y el dióxido de carbono están expuestos durante los periodos productivos de los ecosistemas.
